Thanks Fred - that helped immensely. I was able to build this morning
without error based on the instructions in the advanced install. The key
bits seemed to be mention that MinGW needs g++ and not base components
as the mail thread implied, and that the email thread had wiki markup
code around the file contents whereas the advanced install page clearly
shows what should be in the config file.
Alrighty roo - time to start playing. :)
